Michael C. O'Shaughnessy
President and General Counsel
Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Stanford University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame. He was instrumental in drafting the Kansas Economic Growth Act, a comprehensive legislative act of the State of Kansas that included a transferable tax credit program for angel investors. He has over nine years of comprehensive business and legal experience working with a diverse clientele from business start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Baxi, Michael served as an associate with Polsinelli Shughart PC, one of the fastest growing law firms in the Midwest, representing private, public, and non-profit entities of all sizes and from a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, manufacturing, biopharmaceutical, and life sciences. Michael is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
David Matz
Vice President of Business Development
Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, philosophy, and politics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has completed Level III of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program and is currently enrolled at New York University's Stern School of Business. Prior to joining Baxi, Dave was an associate at PNC Bank in the Debt Capital Markets division, where he focused on debt capital markets and loan syndications. While at PNC, Dave participated in capital raises in excess of $8 billion across a variety of industries. In addition to his experience at PNC, Dave has acted as an independent financial consultant for middle market companies with a focus on debt structuring and acquisition due diligence.
